Baby mine. month ten.

Have I mentioned how much I adore this little boy of mine?
My heart bursts with love every time I hold him, lay eyes upon him, think of him, smell him, hear him, sing to him, read to him, tickle him, bathe him, feed him.

at ten months Santiago is:

a grouchy- growly boy when he skips nap-time
really diggin broccoli
giving big drooly open-mouth kisses
practically walking
blab-blabbing on the telephone with grandma
loves playing peek-a-boo
already getting into mischief
 happiest in the bathtub
has 8 teeth!

he is a handful
but, I love him so

A letter to Santiago on our first Mother's day.

Once upon a time, before you, there were quiet achings, prayers and sorrow.

Once upon a time, there was a hole in my heart the size of you.

Until, once upon a time, there was a soft, fluttering heart beat.

And when you were finally here, pink and squirmy in my arms, the Heavens above whispered to me that you were meant to be mine, all mine.

Some day, you’ll belong to someone else. You’ll belong to yourself. You’ll belong to your schooling and your career, and to someone you’ll love more than you’ve ever loved before. But I will take this time, this time where you are mine and only mine, and I will cherish it and savor every possible second of it.

This is our first Mother’s Day together, though it seems you’ve been with me for far longer than eternity. And while you may not be only mine forever, I will always, always and forever, be yours.

Love, mom

Susan G Komen race for the cure!

Yesterday Santiago and I participated in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. It was great to be a part of such a large event that raises awareness about breast cancer and money for breast cancer research. It also offers free mammograms, treatment and support services to cancer patients. Breast cancer is one of the leading types of cancer in the world, with 1.3 million men and women diagnosed annually. It's not just a women's disease.

I took part because it's a good cause and I want to support to a cure even though breast cancer doesn't affect anyone in my family, thank God. Nearly 20,000 people participated in the race!

Our race for the cure team name was "babies for boobies" and Santiago proudly wore an "I love boobies" onesie.

Babies for boobies! Santiago on the far right.

The start line.

SURVIVORS!

I bet he's thinking of big "boobies" full of rich milk.

PINK porta potties!

I was totally star struck and on cloud nine with Channel 8 news anchor
Dave Courvoisier!

Santiago & Sophia,
my goodness these babes are the cutest! I can hardly handle it!

A story about a boy and his favorite toy.

Once upon a time
there was a handsome little boy named Santiago.
Santiago was bored so he decided to play with his favorite toy.

{I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves}

Spring is stealing my heart.

Mother Nature has been trying to make me hate her lately, with wind gusts that blow everything not nailed to the ground, but by golly, she slipped up yesterday. High 70s! And NO WINDS! glory glory hallelujah! I could have kissed her smack on the mouth!

So, what do we do in the Spring time when all the world is surprisingly calm and sunny and we are desperate to get out and enjoy a cool breeze on our face? Parks. Parks are what we do. Parks parks PARKS!

Happy Tuesday, friends!
